We are healthy and happy when our physical, emotional and mental bodies are in harmony and in sync. So often when we dont feel well we relate our symptoms back a physical ailment, which it might be. But so often, they can relate back to something more deeper. The stressful lives we live now, constantly put us in a 'fight or flight' mode, where the sympathetic nervous system(SNS) takes over. Raised high blood pressure, heart rate, respiration and blood sugar level. When this happens on a regular basis, it can have detrimental effects on our health and science relates a lot of mental issue with this. Even some physical symptoms can manifest due to this stress.
Conscious deep breathing is a simple way of disabling the SNS and enabling the Parasympathetic nervous system( PNS) which them gradually bring the subdued functions like the digestive,reproductive, nervous and elimination systems, back to normal.
Coupled with a few minutes of mindfulness or meditation every day can work wonders to keep a healthy body.
